2009- Wow its been a while since posting but its been a long couple of years so I guess I better update you all. We are now based out of Central Texas. The music scene is a lot different down here but I seemed to settle in. I started out playing with Gary Stewart's band from the 90's around Corsicana and then jumped on with the Country Outlaws and spent a year playing Top 40 and rock while doing the Sunday gig in Mingus. I have now settle back out of those and we are gearing up for some new promo material and going to hit the honky tonks again with the Honkytonk Heathens. I am getting excited about doing my thing again. We still have some of the same picker and picked up some new ones. Jeff Evans is on steel out of Fort Worth. Gary Poe on bass and we use different drummer depending on the location of the gigs due to their schedules. You will still see the same Heathens around from time to time. I have made life long friends with these guys. Last October I lost my dad and that was a tough time. His service was in Tahlequah Oklahoma and the day of the service all of the guys in the band made the 4-6 hour drive to be there. That's not a band that's friends. Thank you guys for being there. Thats pretty much the long story short. Now watch for us and come out to catch the next show. Thanks to everyone for your support.

May 14- We want to send a big congratulations to Bobby Faulkner, our bassist. He graduated from OU, with his Masters in Business, today. Guess you finally earned the name Professor...huh? Welcome back to Texas.

May 11- Well as you can see its been a while since the last entry. There has been a lot happen and I will do my best to get you up to date on everything. At the end of December we had some change in the band. We hired on Carl Summers out of Abilene on steel guitar and Glen Jennings out of Wichita on drums. Don't worry you will still catch the old band on occassion. John and Pete are playing with Aaron Hill now but you will see them with us too on some of the dates. After our gig at the casino Glen decided that we were traveling too far for him. However, you may catch him with us on occassion as well. Thanks for helping us out Glen. During all of this Carl has fallen ill. He is still not feeling real well and we hope he has a speedy recovery. Last weekend we played at the casino again. This is where one of the biggest changes has taken place. With all that has gone on Will felt it was time to make a larger change in the band. On Friday night the Lake Country Live slid off into history. The Honky Tonk Heathens took the stage for the first time. As far as the style of music there will be little change. As long as Will is the leader there will be good country music played. Plan on dancing the night away. John helped us out on steel Friday. We had Earl Holmes in on drums for the weekend, and Mike Franklin on guitar on Saturday. We want to thank all of them for there help. Thanks right looks like were playing musical chairs with musicians. They all did a great job and it is always fun to play with folks you used to work with. Bobby and Will had played with Earl in the past. It was the first time for them to work with Mike Franklin. He is a great picker and we hope to use him again soon. Well in a few words I hope I have you caught up on the life and times of a country band. Please keep checking in to find out the latest on all of the changes.

Oct. 23- John has opened up a club down on PK Lake. We had a good crowd that like to dance and we had some good food. We will be back soon. Thanks to all at the the Wheelhouse.

Oct. 16- Will and Bobby played in Priddy for a wedding with Calvin. It was late when we got home but it was fun.

Oct. 10- Will played at the Trio in Mingus with C.B. We had an orchestra on stage. I think it was 9 people on the stage at once. Brady Bowen, Robert Langford, and Weldon Turpin were a few on the stage.

August 27&28- Will and John head to Amarillo. We get to the motel and get settled in. While hanging around the front desk we run onto Brady Bowen and his cutting horse crew from Jacksboro. Later on Will plays with the band at the club in the motel. Thanks guys for letting me set in. We get up Saturday and head for Canyon. Calvin and the rest of the guys show up and we get settled in the motel for a while and Bobby shows up with his family. We all go over and eat and Corry Morrow's show was great. We got put last on the ticket and ended up playing for a few folks. It was fun and we all made it home safe.

August 15- We have just pulled up to the house about 3:00 p.m. and had time to clean up and head for Mingus. Got there and barely pulled myself thru the gig. Thanks to C.B. for understanding. Thanks to Teela for driving me home. I couldn't have made this trip.

August 13&14- Will, John, Bobby, and Pat Sadler left out early Friday morning headed for Kansas. They played with Calvin Milburn in Victoria opening up for Confederate Railroad. We were all tired but we pulled thru. Then on Saturday they got up early and drove to Grand Junction just in time to load in at Big Dogg's Sports Bar. By this time we haven't had much sleep and the road is sure showing in the faces. Thanks to Pat for keeping the humor up. On Sunday they all left out early headed for Texas. It sure was good to get back home. Thanks guys for your commitment to the music.

August 10- Will played with C.B. Sutton in Stephenville. The Senior Dance is alway fun. Got to see some old friends. Thanks for having me C.B.

July 30- We played a party for a fellow who was headed off to Iraq. We wish the best to him and pray for a safe return. Pete spilled a bucket of beans in the trailer and we still have bean juice on the lights. It was one heck of a nite.

July 24- We were all down at the Silver Dollar on Pk Lake. It is alway fun here. We had a good crowd and the cops weren't too think this time.

July 17- John and Will traveled to Stephenville to play another wedding party for Steve Montgomery's nephew. Steve is the sound man for Calvin's band. Seemed that everyone had a good time.

July 16- John and Will were playing with Calvin again. They were playing a wedding party in Glen Rose. The groom and family were from Holland. They all seemed to have a really good time. Hope the best for the newly weds.

July 9&10- Here we are back at the Casino. Don't ask me it just happens that way. Thanks again to Rick and David for playing with us this weekend. Pete and Bobby were out and these guys saved the day.

July 4- John and Will played with Calvin Milburn down south of Stephenville at the ranch he works for. It was a good ol' time. Will got a couple black eyes....not from fist...ha! We got a little lost but we made it home in the wee hours of the morning.

July 3- Back to the Casino in Randlett. We all had a good time here. Thanks to Rick Smith and David Spangler for helping us out this weekend. They are from the Stampede band in Wichita Falls. They are always there to lend a helping hand when I call. Thanks again guys. Some of the folks seemed to have a really good time this weekend. I don't think a few of the left the whole weekend. We met a few celebrities too......!?

June 26-
We were in Newcastle, Tx playing a birthday party for Booger Red. Hope everyone had a goodtime. This was the first time for Will to play back at the place where he attended school thru the 9th grade. Hope to see all the nice people there again real soon.
June 19- John and Will spent the morning in Springfield site seeing and then made a trip up to Nevada Missouri for the last leg of the trip. They opened for Jeff Carson. There was said to be 8 to 10 thousand people at this show. Jeff Carson is the nicest artist I have met, Will said. After Jeff's show the guys played a street dance. It was a late nite and the folks at the eatin' joint must have had a blast because they pasted out trying to get the truck in gear. We want to say thanks to Linda, Kassi, and the crew for taking care of us there.

June 18- John and Will went to Missouri with Calvin Milburn and Second hand. They played at Midnite Rodeo in Springfield. They want to send a big thanks out to Tommy T for the hospitality. The crowd thought it was great and the two girls in the front made the nite for sure. Hope we see you two on the next trip. Before the nite was over they had given Will some lipstick and tried to beatup the rest of the band. Also want to say a hello to the girl that we ran into from the business across the street. Remember John ..... her costume was.....well lets just say it was!

June 12- We played at the Olney Country Club for the All Class Reunion. We had a really good crowd. The storm set in about the first break we took and tried to blow everyone away. At least they all came inside so they could hear us play anyhow. We had a great response and it seemed that all had a good time. When we left there was a vehicle parked on the road out and ...lets just say the folks in the car had too much fun. They were napping! With a respective headache the following morning I am sure.

Jan - May- Well, we are all still alive. I just realized that the news page that had the "latest" news on it has been altered somehow. So guess what, you don't get to hear about all the action since January. You ask why? Well you should have been to the shows and you would know what happened. Unfortunately, I don't remember. So I will start from June and try to get you the news and not delete the old news. Sorry!

Jan. 10- We traveled up to Club 59 in Montague tonite. We were greeted with the news that the booking agent here had past away. Rick Diaforli was the most professional booker I had ever worked with. We never got to meet Rick but our thoughts are with his family. We carried on the show just like Rick would have liked. I hope we measured up to what you hoped Rick. God Bless!

Jan. 3- The music of the Lake Country Five has made it back to Mingus. We want to thank Roger and Jennifer Blair at the Sugar Bush for bringing us in . We had a great time and the place is great. This is the new place and town and trust me it is great. They bring in the Texas Music stars throughout the month. It is a good place to get up-close and personal with you favorite artist. Check out our schedule and click on their name to visit their site. Thanks again guys. By the way the girls ain't that bad lookin' at the Bush.

Dec. 31- We brought in the New Year at the VFW in Mineral Wells. This place sure is nice. We had a great crowd considering we were competing against Darrel McCall up the road.

Dec. 20- We were at Gary's Silver Dollar on PK Lake. This was the first nite that Bobby Faulkner our new bass player was with us. This guy is top notch. We had a good crowd and we want to thank everyone for coming out. The buzz is getting out about this group bringing back the music of the Lake Country Five.

Dec. 6- We had a jam on this nite. We had Pat Sadler out to play fiddle. Pat really helped me out when I started my music career. We also had Brady Bowen out on fiddle, too. Brady has played with the Texas Playboys. We all had too much fun, it seemed. This may become a monthly event. Thanks to all who came out.

Dec. 5- Got some news you folks might want to hear. We lost our bass player, Rudy Bueno, today. He wanted to try the path with the Spanish band he was working with. We enjoyed having him while we did. You can still catch him with us on New Year's Eve. We have brought in Bobby Faulkner, from Norman, Oklahoma, on bass. He does great and plays the songs like he has been playing with us since the begining. We will be at the Mineral Wells VFW for New Year's Eve.

Nov. 22- We played at the Dodd Ranch for my Dad's B-day party. Everyone had a blast and Bobby Clark filled our breaks with his original songs. Glad to see some old friends here. Bobby Faulkner came in a played bass with us on this gig. He did great. Thanks Bobby!

Nov. 14-15- We spent the weekend at the Comanche Red River Casino. This is a nice place. You folks need to catch us there next time were there in February. Nov. 1- We were at the Olney American Legion. We had a good crowd and thanks to all who came out. The band is getting better every show and we are working in more originals and some new Lake Country Five songs. Larry Wooldridge, the leader of the Lake Country Five came out to practice this week and we got a positive response from him on the songs. Thanks to Larry for all his support.

Oct. 18- Well Granny got married and we played for the party afterwards. I guess it is the same getting married at 80 as it is at 20. The newlyweds left the party early. We had a blast and have a potential job coming up in the summer on South Padre island. We hope that goes through.

Oct. 4- Tonight we played a wedding in Jacksboro for Brandon and Meagan Hobson. We want to wish them all the luck in their decision to make the big step into marriage. This was a good party. Thanks for all the kind words from everyone. The decision was made tonight to start having a dance once a month at the Brumley's Barn. We hope to see a lot of you out there at the first one. Keep an eye on the calendar to see when the first one is scheduled. We have another addition to the band as of this week. Cristin Cotton has come on board to sing back-up vocals for us and she also adds a little beauty to the group. We also have gotten Rudy Bueno on bass with us now. Check out the bio page to learn about everyone. We have been adding some new songs to our set list. Let us know what you think next time you come out.

Sept. 20- Another big party for Bryson Pankey. I believe that he didn't make it through the night either. Guess when you turn 21 it isn't meant for you to see the next morning. Well if you weren't there I guess I shouldn't tell you what happened. You know it was a "Private" party.

Sept.5- We have an announcement to make!! John Harlow of the Lake Country Five has joined the group now. You all know that we are trying to keep their music alive. This adds a real touch to it. You folks will like this. John has played with many of the old stars. You know even Willie Nelson used to call him to come jam. Now how many of you have had that happen?  Thanks John for coming on board; it is a pleasure being on stage with such a legend.

Sept. 1- We played at the Hog Hoot again this year. This was the 26th year. If I might say it gets better every year. We were booked back for next year. We were all drunk and I think Jim Bob passed out. That's right the big party man couldn't hang. The guys from Gravels Roads came out and played with us as well as Tom Walton. I guess we'll see you all again next year.

June 5, 6, 7-Well you missed a big one this weekend. We were at the Jack County Sheriff's Posse Rodeo. On Thursday night Big Billy Kinder from KSCS made his way home to bring us on stage and he even gave away some concert tickets. Then on Friday the crowd started pouring in and we even stayed late. Then Saturday we brought in some hired guns. Chad Bilbrey came in to play bass and Josh McDaniel was on drums. We had the biggest crowd in the history of the Rodeo. You could barely walk through them. Thanks for the support yall. And by the way what is up with the deal of them not having us back. Yeah right !

May 6- We had a big time at the Silver Dollar again. We want to think everyone for coming out. Be watching for us in there sometime in October or November.

April 6- Just got a call from the Siver Dollar. They were in the path of  a tornado this weekend. The show has been cancelled and will be rescheduled soon. I went down to Chilifest this weekend in College Station. It was a sold out deal. I got good and sunburned and let the Aggies have it. Boy, do they know how to party. I have received emails from some friends I haven't seen a while. It is good to hear from everyone. Keep the emails coming.

April 2- Sorry, it's been a while since I last left some news. Been working with a band out of College Station. We opened for the Bellamy Brothers. That was a blast. Getting ready to start after this music business again. Next weekend we'll be at Silver Dollar at PK Lake. Hope ya'll can come out.

November 2- This was the first night with Calvin Milburn and Second Hand. It was a fun gig. Unfortunately, I got drunk Friday night and was sick all the weekend. They drew a big crowd at the BackRoads Bar in Brownwood. Looking forward to playing with them again this coming weekend.

November 1- Had a fun time at the Backside Steackhouse in Graham. Maybe too much fun!Weather had and effect on the crowd but we did have a party crowd, that is for sure! I want to send out a big thanks to Deadbroke for helping me out on that gig. Thanks to the panty girl.<---I won't go into that. :o)

October 28- This week we're gearing up for the gig Friday at the Backside Steakside Steakhouse. It ought to be a fun time. Check out the concert date page for more info.
